Applies to Creatr HS Printers needing to print Flexible Filaments
If you have recently purchased a flexible filament gland to use with prints that require flexible filament such as Nylon, NinjaFlex, etc., are needing to repair your current gland, or are needing to replace the current gland with the flexible filament gland on your Creatr HS printer, then this solution is will help guide you through these processes.
Removing and Installing/Replacing the Filament Gland:
STEP 0: If you currently have filament loaded in the extruder that you want to install the flexible filament adapter, you will need to preheat your extruder, and remove the filament from the printer.
STEP 1: Remove the Filament Tube Coupling by unscrewing it from the Filament gland.
STEP 2: Loosen the grub screw holding the current top filament gland in place.
STEP 3: Remove the filament gland. You may need pliers to get a better hold of the gland from the top of the printer. Likewise, you can push the gland up with the same Allan key used to unscrew the grub screw from the location inside the motor mount:
STEP 5: If you haven't already done so, clip the end of the filament; reload your filament into the printer.
Flexible Filament Gland Repair:
If you find the bottom tip of your flexible filament gland looking like the one in the following image, you might be able to repair it without having to replace it:
(Photo out of date: The gland that we sell is solid plastic rather than aluminum with a plastic tube.)
STEP 1: If you think that the flexible filament gland is damaged, and haven't already done so, remove it from the printer using the above mentioned steps.
STEP 2: Use the end of a size 2 Allan Key to bend open the plastic tip.

Though the plastic tip opening is wider than when you first purchased it, it is okay; you should be able to print fine with is.
NOTE before STEP 3: IF YOU HAVE A FLEXIBLE FILAMENT GLAND MODEL SIMILAR TO THE THE ONE IN THE PICTURE ABOVE, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU SWITCH OUT THE GLAND WITH THE NORMAL FILAMENT GLAND (THE ONE THAT CAME WITH THE PRINTER) ANYTIME YOU ARE NOT PRINTING WITH FLEXIBLE FILAMENTS; THE MODEL THAT IS PICTURED ABOVE DOES WAS DAMAGED BECAUSE NON-FLEXIBLE FILAMENT WAS USED.
STEP 3: Replace the proper filament gland, tighten the filament gland screw on the motor mount, and screw the filament tube coupling back into the top of the filament gland.
